12-word passphrase key

Get your 12-word phrase
Wevu generates a random passphrase for you, or you can bring your own. Write it on paper and keep it safe — this is your key.

Your browser derives the key
The phrase is hashed locally into a cryptographic key. Only a fingerprint — unreadable without the phrase — is registered with the server.

Messages are encrypted before sending
Each message is encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM before it ever touches the network. The recipient decrypts it on their end.

The server sees nothing meaningful
Wevu's servers forward encrypted blobs. Even a full server breach exposes only ciphertext — not one readable word.

Reload anytime, same access
Closing the tab or switching devices? Re-enter your phrase and your key is recreated instantly. No sync, no cloud backup needed.
